Tuesday 8th March 2005 marks International
Women's Day, a day when people come together globally through
meetings, marches, debates, speeches, and dinners to call for
a better world for all women, a day that celebrates women's contribution
to society.
This event had radical, socialist beginnings
and came about in the early 1900s. In its early years only limited
groups of women became involved because of its associations with
communism. However, International
Women's Day is now an annual calendar fixture, recognised
by community organisations, governments and the United Nations.
Uniquely Woman is pleased
to support this wonderful event.
In line with the ethos of International
Women's Day, Uniquely Woman
believe that all women have the right to celebrate their individuality
and to feel good about themselves regardless of body size, shape
or beliefs.
