A New Look On The Net!
Unique
fashion website
It's more off the wall than off the peg - but
it could be just what the fashion doctor ordered.
Birmingham graduate Clare Thomas has set up
a unique service for thousands of women who struggle to keep up
with their fashion because of their figure, height, shoe size,
eating habits or even their concerns for the environment.
In fact, 30-year-old Clare is the woman to
go to for anything that's hard to find on the high street.
Directory
She has spent 18 months compiling and extensive directory of 800
companies from across the West Midlands and the UK who sell specialist
clothes and shoes that would otherwise take weeks or months to
find.
Items available include shoes for vegans made
with no animal- based products, organic clothes and shoes ranging
from a dainty size 12 to three and up to size 11.
But these are only some of the hard to find
fashion items ladies can now easily get hold of through Clare's
web directory www.uniquelywoman.co.uk - believed to be the first
of its kind in the West Midlands.
Others include fashionable mastectomy and maternity
clothes, accessories like tights for tall and short women, as
well as clothes for tiny, premature babies.
"Every woman I know has a problem finding
clothes, shoes or accessories whether they're tall, short, petite,
a plus size or pregnant," said Clare, who lives in Tamworth.
"The inspiration came from my experience
of not having enough clothing suppliers on the high street supplying
clothes to flatter my own pear shaped figure - a shape with 70
per cent of women in Britain have. But it soon spilt over into
other specialist areas."
UCE graduate Clare, who lives with husband
Michael added: "The aim of the site is to allow women to
celebrate their individuality and who they are - no matter what
their size, shape or the values they uphold. So far feedback has
been fantastic."
